Starting Counselling or Assessment

1

Book an Appointment or Consult

Our clinic policy is that we require an active credit card on file. This applies even if the client chooses direct billing.

If you are unable to provide a credit card, please contact the clinic.

You can book an appointment with one of our clinicians by email, phone, or by booking an appointment online. If you are unsure about which services are ideal for you and your situation please consider booking a free 15-minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit for you! We can also help determine which services we provide are best suited for your problem.

2

Intake Appointment (In-person or Virtual)

After you book an appointment or consult online, you will automatically receive a link to your email that contains the intake form. A separate form will be sent out if we require additional consents (e.g., parents are separated). At the intake appointment we will perform a screening/assessment to determine which service is best suited for your needs.

For Children/Teen Counselling - the primary client(s) should be the child. All first appointments for child/teen counselling are with parent(s) only. Speak with your therapist if you wish to change this arrangement

3

Psychological Assessment (Service)

If you are seeking a psychological assessment, we will clarify with you the costs and types of assessments we will perform with you in order to identify and assess several key areas - academic, work performance (if appropriate), behaviour, emotional wellbeing, adaptive functioning, and executive functioning skills. After the assessment is complete, a debriefing session will be booked to debrief the results.

4

Counselling Therapy (Service)

We will work with you to develop a therapeutic plan designed to address your unique needs, goals, and problems/issues. Together we will prioritize which goals you would like to "target" first.

5

Follow-up Appointments

Subsequent sessions focus on your individualized goals. Appointments are between 1 - 3 weeks apart to give you opportunities to work on the skills you have learned from the previous therapy sessions. The average number of appointments is dependent on your presenting concerns and goals for therapy.
