For the past 11 years, I have been working with children and families in various capacities. Mainly, I have worked with children and families in relation to neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, FASD) and/or impacted by trauma in various roles within child/youth development, schools, recreation, childcare, group homes, FCSD, and early intervention settings. To best support my clients, I am trained in dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), FASD, female hormones and ADHD, behavior therapy, play-based interventions, child development and psychological assessments.
Overall, I have experience with a multitude of childhood diagnoses. I have expertise in those with behavioural challenges, and specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals across the lifespan. Outside of working with children and families, I have experience working with adults regarding ADHD and Autism, intimate partner violence, trauma/PTSD, relationship issues, family life transitions, anxiety, depression, and grief and loss.
The goal of my approach to counselling is to facilitate learning, self-compassion, increase clients’ awareness of their strengths, and empower sustainable change outside of the therapy sessions. I consider the psychological, developmental, and situational factors that can impact individuals to implement appropriate interventions.
