A formal autism assessment helps determine whether an individual meets the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by evaluating communication, social interaction, behavior, and developmental history. Whether or not a diagnosis is made, the assessment can offer valuable insight to support access to accommodations and guide planning at school, work, and in daily life.
Results from ASD testing can open access to tailored supports, services, and accommodations at school, work, and in daily life. Personalized strategies are also provided based on individual strengths and needs.

Signs That An Autism Assessment May Be Helpful For You Or Your Child
Child Assessments
When your child is showing differences in how they communicate, play, or connect with others, or you notice unique patterns in their behaviour or interests, an autism assessment may provide clarity and support.
Early understanding can help you and your child access the right resources to thrive at home, school, and in the community.
- Struggles to connect with peers or prefers to play alone
- Has strong interests in specific topics or routines and may become upset when these are interrupted
- Shows differences in communication, such as delayed speech, limited eye contact, or using gestures instead of words
- Reacts strongly to sounds, textures, lights, or changes in routine
- Finds it hard to express feelings or understand others’ emotions
Adult Assessments
When you’ve always felt a bit different in how you interact with others, process information, or navigate daily life, an autism assessment can help you better understand yourself.
For many adults, a diagnosis provides clarity, self-acceptance, and strategies for improving well-being and relationships.
- Find social interactions draining or confusing and often prefer solitude
- Notice that you rely on routines or have intense interests that bring comfort and focus
- Have always struggled to “fit in” or feel misunderstood in personal or work settings
- Experience sensory sensitivities, such as being overwhelmed by certain sounds, lights, or textures
- Suspect that past challenges with anxiety, depression, or relationships may be connected to being autistic
An autism assessment can provide the answers, support, and peace of mind you need to move forward.
