What is Academic Support and IPP ?

Academic Support helps students get the guidance and tools they need to succeed in school. This can include personalized strategies, skill-building, and one-on-one support to help your child reach their full potential.

An IPP (Individualized Program Plan) is a plan created specifically for your child’s learning needs. It outlines goals, strategies, and supports tailored to their strengths and challenges, ensuring they have the resources to succeed in the classroom.

Together, academic support and an IPP provide personalized, goal-focused guidance that helps students thrive academically, build confidence, and stay on track with their learning objectives.

If your child is experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges alongside academic concerns, our child psychology Calgary team can provide additional support.

Benefits of Having an IPP

Each IPP is tailored to your  unique strengths and areas for growth, ensuring their learning objectives are realistic, meaningful, and achievable.

An IPP identifies specific strategies, accommodations, and supports you need, helping teachers and parents provide consistent guidance both at school and at home.

With an IPP, your progress is monitored regularly, making it easy to see improvements, adjust goals as needed, and celebrate successes along the way.

Knowing that learning is structured around your needs helps students feel capable, supported, and motivated to reach their goals.

An IPP creates a shared plan for educators and families, fostering collaboration and ensuring everyone is on the same page about your child’s learning journey.
